What Is Passive Aggressive Behavior?

Passive-aggressive behavior is one of the most disturbing, distracting and unpleasant personality types. Passive-aggressive personality disorder is a chronic condition in which feelings of aggression are expressed in passive ways, for example, by stubbornness, sullenness, and intentional inefficiency. When passive-aggressive behavior has over-powdered you and altered your personality and actions, you might cry, feel depressed, lonely, yell and be out of control.

The way to recognize a person having this behavior is to observe his/her attitude. Person with this disorder fears intimacy, and so will pick up fights with their loved ones without any reasons just to create distance. Generally people with this disorder do not express their feelings. They show, unexpected anger attacks and pass sarcastic comments. They isolate or reject you without any valid reasons and also forget deadlines and anniversaries. They usually offer condescending opinions and blame you for their own shortcomings. Being sensitive and caring one minute and get hostile the next moment.

Passive-aggressive tendencies are likely to exhibit themselves in work situations. The passive-aggressive employee or employer may use these techniques. In work places, the passive-aggressive employee hopes that by showing this behavior, he or she will not be asked to do these tasks again.

A person with this behavior may give excuses and justifications to explain why things are going wrong. They may sometimes be aware of what they are doing, and next time they may not be. Interacting with them can leave you emotionally drained, and distressed. Their behavioral attributes are confusing, and can damage your self-esteem.
