What Is Folliculitis?
Folliculitis is an infection of the hair follicle, looks like a little pimple full of pus. Symptoms include rashes, i.e. reddened skin, pimples or pustules located around a hair follicle, itching skin etc.
It can occur on any part of the body, but mostly occur on neck, axilla, or groin area. Factors due to which Folliculitis occurs include constant friction, tight clothing, too much sweating and exposure to water.
Treatment of Folliculitis include topical antiseptics in most of the cases, topical antibiotics such as mupirocin or neomycin containing ointment etc are also good choices. And for some sufferers, systemic narrow-spectrum penicillinase-resistant penicillins are good.
