It typically results in hyper-responsive blood vessels that dilate to numerous internal and external stimuli. It typically first appears when people reach their 30s and 40s as a flushing or subtle redness on the cheeks, nose, chin or forehead. If rosacea is left untreated, then it tends to worsen over time because changes are gradual.

All those factors which can cause rosacea should be avoided. Rosacea patients are advised to identify and avoid lifestyle and environmental factors that can cause rosacea. The use of stronger cortisone creams can certainly produce rosacea.so avoid those creams. Emotional factors such as stress, fear, anxiety, embarrassment, etc may cause blushing and aggravate rosacea, so try to avoid these stressful conditions in order to prevent rosacea.

Treatment of rosacea is following:

Physicians may use a variety of medications to help control rosacea in individual patients. For patients with redness and pimples, doctors often prescribe oral antibiotics and topical therapy treatment.

Laser treatment or other surgical procedures may be used to remove visible blood vessels, reduce extensive redness or correct disfigurement of the nose. Red lines, spider veins and rosacea is treated very effectively by these lasers

Cosmetics may be used to reduce the effect of rosacea on appearance. Patients may also benefit from gentle and appropriate skin care.

Products containing a sulfur drug or azelaic acid may be prescribed as an alternative or adjunct to antibiotic therapy. cardiovascular medication is sometimes used to control severe flushing

Eye symptoms are commonly treated with oral antibiotics and ophthalmic therapy.

Rosacea is a chronic, acne-like condition of the facial skin. It typically results in hyper-responsive blood vessels that dilate to numerous internal and external stimuli. It typically appears as a flushing or subtle redness on the cheeks, nose, chin or forehead that comes and goes. If rosacea is left untreated, then it tends to worsen over time because changes are gradual.

Some of the most common rosacea triggers include sun exposure, emotional stress, hot or cold weather, wind, alcohol, spicy foods, heavy exercise, hot baths, heated beverages and certain skin-care products.

Some of the symptoms of rosacea include:

General reddening of the skin.

Bumps and pimples.

Small dilated blood vessels that appear as red lines on the skin

enlargement of tissue, this is most common in the nose, a condition called “rhinophyma”

Rosacea is not considered an infectious disease, and there is no evidence that it can be spread by contact with the skin or through inhaling airborne bacteria. The effectiveness of antibiotics against rosacea symptoms is widely believed to be due to their anti-inflammatory effect, rather than their ability to destroy bacteria.

Factors which cause rosacea are following:

Rosacea tends to affect the “blush” areas of the face and is more common in people who flush easily. As Flushing is an essential part of the condition, so experts believe that blood vessels are a significant component to the cause of rosacea.

Certain medications that cause flushing can flare your skin. Vasodilating drugs such as ACE-inhibitors and some cholesterol lowering agents may lead to rosacea.

Rosacea is a very common and chronic skin disorder. It causes redness and pimples on the nose, forehead, cheeks, chin and sometimes the eyes as well. In most of the cases, Rosacea is cyclical, i.e. you may experience symptoms for a period of weeks or months, then the symptoms fade for a time before flaring up again in the future.

Rosacea often occurs in three phases, with symptoms growing progressively worse with each phase. It’s though not life threatening, but can be dangerous in a sense that the skin disorder, and embarrassment due to it can lead towards emotional disorders.
