The major cause of poverty is when the GDP (Gross Domestic Product) of the 41 Heavily Indebted Poor Countries (567 million people) is less than the wealth of the world’s 7 richest people combined.

Poverty is present in various age groups, and whether the poverty rate went up or down. The poorest people will also have less access to health, education and other services. Problems of hunger, malnutrition and disease afflict the poorest in society. Health insurance is insurance that pays for medical expenses. As we know that too many people dies due to unavailability of medical facilities.

Health insurance can play a vital role to save lives of peoples. So certain precautions should be made by government so that poor people can get medical facilities. NGOs or other public welfare institutions should also make certain steps to help people for health insurance. Health insurance companies should also give special relief to the poor people.

Students of public health come from a variety of educational backgrounds, but there is coursework that can better prepare you for the field of study you choose. Growing threats from our environment, the resurgence of infectious diseases, increasing violence, an aging population and the escalating costs of health care are all immediate concerns of public health professionals.

Those interested in public health jobs should do research into the area they are most interested in. Public health jobs are varied and can incorporate just a local area, or responsibilities for an entire state or nation. The nursing profession has witnessed tremendous changes in the last five decades. In this continually changing environment, it is important to study the trends in nursing jobs in order to determine a successful career path.

The most common public health job is likely to be the local health officer, who may also be known as the public health nurse in some cases. This individual is responsible for spreading the word about contagious diseases seen in the area, and also to act as a spokesperson and ambassador for a local health department. As with any large agency, public health jobs will also involve administrators, support staff, IT experts, and even media relations professionals.

Today, public health is the umbrella over many issues, including some that seem unrelated to health care but that ultimately influence. Public health is the science and art of creating healthy communities through education, research, and promotion of healthy lifestyles. Public health ranges from the study of smog in the air we breathe to gang intervention programs on our neighborhood street.

In public health, the focus is on health promotion and disease/injury prevention; this is in contrast to the medical model of care, which focuses more heavily upon diagnosing and treating illnesses and conditions after they occur. Public health careers offer something for everyone. Health administration incorporates business and management skills. Health education involves skills required to develop community-wide prevention programs. Public health professionals work in both the public and private sectors.

Many public health graduates will find work in the public sector in local, state, or federal health departments. While it is possible to gain experience in the field without an advanced degree, most public health professionals need at least a Masters degree for career advancement. Public health professionals monitor and evaluate the health needs of entire communities, promote healthy practices and behaviors, and work to identify and eliminate environmental hazards to assure our population stays healthy.

The world is getting smaller. Increased globalization, resulting from advances in travel and telecommunications, has facilitated an ever greater mixing of people, customs and cultures, and more rapid cross border flows of goods and services, people and capital, and ideas and information.

Common Health examines the definition of public health and how it is practiced in Maine. In public health, the goal is to prevent disease or injury in a whole population a city, state or country, for example. Many of these public health issues have historically been dealt with at a national or local level, but they are increasingly beyond the direct control of national public health infrastructure.

A variety of pollutants present in the environment often lead to a pattern associated with the most common environmental health issues facing society. An outbreak of disease caused by the environment threatens public health. As the ozone layer diminishes, leaving holes where harmful ultraviolet rays pass through to the earth, people are affected in many ways. Respiratory problems are on the rise because of air pollutants and carcinogens.
