The pancreas is a spongy, tube-shaped organ about 6 inches long. It is located in the back of the abdomen, behind the stomach. The pancreas has two main jobs in the body. To produce juices that help digest (break down) food. To produce hormones, such as insulin and glucagons, that helps control blood sugar levels. Both of these hormones help the body use and store the energy it gets from food.

You might have heard about or have met people suffering from Pancreatic Cancer. It’s said to be a silent killer, so it’s necessary to know what actually it is and what are the factors causing Pancreatic Cancer.

Pancreatic cancer is basically a tumor in the pancreatic gland of the body. The development and growth of this tumor is the inception and spread of Pancreatic Cancer. According to the stats and experts’ opinion, Pancreatic Cancer is fatal in nature and the survival rate of a of the sufferer of the disease is very low.

Since all diseases have some causes, Pancreatic Cancer also develops and grows due to some factors, that can generally be:

  • Excessive intake of eggs
  • Excessive intake of coffee
  • Excessive intake of red meat
  • Alcohol addiction
  • Smoking
  • Excessive intake of junk food

And above all Heredity, which is believed to be the foremost reason for pancreatic cancer.
