EMT or paramedic jobs are increasing with the increased number of trauma cases almost everywhere in the world. The increased demand of EMT jobs does not only need to fill the positions but also to have right people on right job. Since, it’s a sensitive area and only highly capable individual can become an EMT. The job requires dedication, professionalism and above all training for best performance.

To become an EMT, and having a successful career you need to be multi-skilled. Normally, EMTs must have to have good command over:

Spinal injury management which also includes immobilization and safe transport.

Fracture management.

Obstetrics

Management of Burns.

Effective verbal and written reporting skills.

Routine medical equipment maintenance.

Routine radio operating.

Emergency vehicle operation.

You can become an EMT by on-the-job training, as it gives more exposure to success. You do not necessarily keep on working as a medical professional for whole time; instead you can become instructor, dispatcher, supervisor, operations manager, administrative director, or an executive director of emergency services depending on your work quality and aptitude. It’s one good field to consider, if you’re looking for a dynamic career in health industry, so do think over it!

Today, public health is the umbrella over many issues, including some that seem unrelated to health care but that ultimately influence. Public health is the science and art of creating healthy communities through education, research, and promotion of healthy lifestyles. Public health ranges from the study of smog in the air we breathe to gang intervention programs on our neighborhood street.

In public health, the focus is on health promotion and disease/injury prevention; this is in contrast to the medical model of care, which focuses more heavily upon diagnosing and treating illnesses and conditions after they occur. Public health careers offer something for everyone. Health administration incorporates business and management skills. Health education involves skills required to develop community-wide prevention programs. Public health professionals work in both the public and private sectors.

Many public health graduates will find work in the public sector in local, state, or federal health departments. While it is possible to gain experience in the field without an advanced degree, most public health professionals need at least a Masters degree for career advancement. Public health professionals monitor and evaluate the health needs of entire communities, promote healthy practices and behaviors, and work to identify and eliminate environmental hazards to assure our population stays healthy.
