Flu is common problem in children as well as in adults. To solve this problem H1N1 vaccine is present there to help us. Today’s H1N1 vaccine is identical to the seasonal influenza vaccine. At present, two medications are currently available to treat the H1N1 flu. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommends that these drugs be reserved for people who are severely ill with the swine flu, or for those people with illnesses such as cancer who are at significant risk from the infection. Some of the supportive care for H1N1 Vaccine is given below:

Drink plenty of fluids.

Keep a glass of water handy when you are resting.

Filling a pitcher with water in the fridge can be a reminder if you aren’t drinking enough.

Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth. This may be one of the best ways to avoid the flu.

Stay away from people who have symptoms such as coughing and sneezing.

H1N1 vaccine helps preventing influenza infection and its complications. About 2 weeks after vaccination, antibodies that provide protection against 2009 H1N1 influenza virus infection will develop in the body.

This vaccine is useful for both infants and for adults. If you are giving a dose to an infant give him 0.25ml. This dose is based on previous influenza vaccine efficiency, due to a lack of testing on this specific vaccine. H1N1 Vaccine is also useful for pregnant women. They can use this vaccine during the period of pregnancy too.

Children under age 10 are recommended to receive two doses of the vaccine, 4 weeks apart, to achieve full protection. The good thing about this vaccine is that if some suffer from its side effect they will not cause any serious problem and they will also last for only two days.

Swine flu has been one of the most active topic in health circles during 2009, and so H1N1 vaccine, so here goes a quick overview of it. We’ll be discussing H1N1 vaccine in detail later. Well, H1N1 vaccines are one of the most effective ways to protect people from contracting illness during influenza epidemics and pandemics.

The technology which is used in H1N1 Vaccine is almost the same as in decades; therefore it is very safe and reliable. . There are two types of the H1N1 Vaccine. Flu Shot and other one is Nasal Spray. Flu shot is an inactivated vaccine containing fragments of killed influenza virus, and a nasal spray is made to weakened a live flu virus.

The pandemic influenza is a new virus, and virtually everyone is susceptible to infect from it. To get rid of this virus H1N1 Vaccine is present there to help you. By using these vaccine viruses in the Swine Flu shot are killed and you will not get the flu from a flu shot. The people who had severe allergy to chicken eggs, severe reaction to an influenza vaccination, Children younger than 6 months of age are advice to not use H1N1 Vaccine

50% of the people do not respond well for H1N1 vaccination, reason being the fear of unsafe vaccination. Almost all of them have same question, that if H1N1 vaccine is safe!

According to Health Canada, based on the results of thousands of clinical trials around the world, it is satisfied the vaccine is safe. And the adjuvant, a chemical product that boosts the immune response, has been tested on thousands with the H5N1 avian flu drug and proven effective, the regulator says.

The vaccine confers more than 90-per-cent immunity in healthy adults, more than the seasonal flu vaccine. Researchers cannot do studies in millions of people before licensing a vaccine, which would be too time-consuming during a pandemic. Post-licensing surveillance, in which people report their side effects, will be conducted in Canada.

Avian influenza is flu infection in birds. The disease(commonly known as bird flu) is of concern to humans, who have no immunity against it. The virus that causes this infection in birds can mutate to infect humans. Such mutation could start a deadly worldwide epidemic.

Avian influenza is an infectious disease of birds. Avian influenza viruses are rarely transmitted from birds to humans, and most of these cases have occurred from direct or close contact with infected poultry or contaminated surfaces. H5N1 virus does not usually infect people; however, a few cases of human-to-human spread of H5N1 virus have occurred.

Two main implications for human health from avian influenza are following:

The first implication is of contracting a direct infection if the virus passes from the infected bird to humans, resulting in very severe disease. H5N1 has caused the largest number of cases of severe disease and death in humans. Primary viral pneumonia and multi-organ failure are common among people with avian influenza. The disease caused by H5N1 follows an unusually aggressive clinical course, with rapid deterioration and high fatality. More than half of those infected with the virus have died in the present outbreak.

A second implication is that, the virus – if given enough opportunities – may mutate into a form that is extremely contagious for humans and spreads easily from person to person. Such a change could mark the start of a pandemic (a global outbreak).

Avian influenza is flu infection in birds. The disease is of concern to humans, who have no immunity against it. The virus that causes this infection in birds can mutate to infect humans. Such mutation could start a deadly worldwide epidemic. Human influenza virus usually refers to those subtypes that spread widely among humans. There are only three known A subtypes of influenza viruses H1N1, H1N2, and H3N2 currently circulating among humans. Influenza A viruses are constantly changing, and they might adapt over time to infect and spread among humans.

In initial stages, the bird flu or avian influenza manifests symptoms very similar to the common flu. Symptoms of bird flu in humans have ranged from typical flu-like symptoms fever, cough, sore throat and muscle aches to eye infections, pneumonia, severe respiratory diseases such as acute respiratory distress, and other severe and life threatening complications.

But avian influenza cannot be diagnosed by symptoms alone, so a laboratory test is required. Usually a swab from the nose or throat is gathered during the first few days of illness. This swab is then sent to a laboratory, where the sample is put through a molecular test and other procedures or they will try to grow the virus. Avian influenza viruses are grown in laboratories with intensive protection. If it is late in the illness, it may be difficult to find an avian influenza virus by using these methods. In this case, it may still be possible to diagnose avian influenza by looking for evidence of the body’s response to the virus. This is not always an option because it requires two blood specimens, one taken during the first few days of illness and another taken some weeks later, and it can take several weeks to verify the results.
