Many people have bad breath without even realizing it. Bad breath can be very embarrassing, but it is a common condition that affects millions of people. Bad breath is also called halitosis. . Halitosis is a physical condition that is very hard to live with. It affects both your personality and your interaction with other people. Dental studies show that about 85 percent of people with persistent bad breath, also known as halitosis have a dental problem that is to blame.

There are several different causes of bad breath, there are also numerous ways to prevent it. Following these steps can help you prevent bad breath as well as keep your mouth healthy on a daily basis.

  • Brush your teeth and scrape your tongue properly at least 2 times every day to remove plaque. Also use a soft-bristled toothbrush so as not to damage your gums when you brush it.
  • Brushing alone won’t flush out all the bacteria present in the mouth Floss your teeth daily to remove food from between your teeth that a toothbrush can’t reach.
  • Make sure you drink a significant amount of water daily. A dry throat and mouth are conducive with bad breath. Drinking water cleanses your mouth and prevents the proliferation of bacteria.
  • Breakfast is a very important meal. , It also keeps your stomach from forming acids that may cause bad breath. Those who skip breakfast tend to suffer from bad breath a few hours before noon.
  • Avoid foods such as garlic, onions, sugary foods, meats, fish, poultry, and eggs. All of these foods are notorious for causing bad breath.
  • Eat more fruits and vegetables every day and eat less meat.
  • Do not smoke and avoid using tobacco products.  Tobacco tends to dry out your mouth and can leave an unpleasant smell.
  • A dry mouth has an unpleasant odor. If your mouth is dry, you can suck on sugar-free mints, chew sugar-free gum or drink more water.
  • The use of chewing gum, mouthwash, and candy are not adequate solutions for dealing with bad breath, as they do not address the root cause. . Leafy green vegetables, lemons, and limes are much better cover-ups in emergencies when your toothbrush is not at hand

Bad breath, morning breath, breath odor is all terms used to describe a breath. Bad breath is the common name for the medical condition known as halitosis. The most common cause of halitosis is the anaerobic bacteria that live in a person’s mouth. Bad breath or halitosis is a common problem, affecting almost all of us at one time or another. Bad breath can be a sign of a more serious illness. Bad breath is a very common problem and there are many different causes. Some of them are given below:

  • Tobacco causes its own form of bad breath. Smoking affects; oral hygiene is a common cause of bad breath, which causes gum disease.
  • Foods and drinks, such as garlic, onions, cheese, orange juice, and soda are also the cause of bad breath.
  • Small food particles taken in between the meal are also responsible for bad smell.
  • Bits of food that get caught between the teeth and on the tongue will rot and can cause your breath bad.
  • Poor dental hygiene is also another factor, which is responsible for bad breath.
  • Diabetes can also cause ketosis, and which too result in bad breath.
  • Correct and regular brushing is very important to keep your breath smelling fresh.
  • Infections in the throat, nose or lungs; sinusitis; diabetes; or liver or kidney problems are also the causes of bad breath.
  • Another cause of bad breath is a condition called xerostomia, or dry mouth. Dry mouth favors bacterial activity. Any condition which produces dryness in the mouth makes the bad breath.
