When summer ends, we often put away our sunscreen and forget about protecting our skin. The combination of winter wind and sun can lead to harmful consequences like dry skin, serious burns and skin conditions. Dry skin occurs more often during colder weather because cold air is often drier than warm air.
During the cold winter months, use creams instead lotions to moisturize your skin immediately after a bath. Apply liberal amounts of sunscreen when you spend time outside. Replace your traditional soap with an oil-infused shower gel. Don’t overuse products that contain alpha-hydroxy acids.
It is very important in winter to use lip balm with sunscreen, lip balm protect our lips especially in winter season. In winter avoid bating with hot water because hot water removes natural oils from the skin. Petroleum jelly is good for problem areas in winter. It seals in moisture to help heal very dry skin. Use a humidifier in your home to keep humidity levels higher. In winter season skip the shampoo and try just conditioning your hair once a week. Pay special attention to your heels where the skin is thickest.
