Liver Cancer is one type of cancer which doctors classify in terms of its stages. Each stage describes the size of the cancerous tumor and the area it’s spread to. For liver cancer, there’re four basic stages, and they are as follows:
- The first stage: The tumor is less than or about two centimeters long at this stage.
- The second stage: Here it starts affecting the blood vessels. At this stage there may be more than one tumor present.
- The third stage: At this stage the tumor normally reaches up to five centimeters, and starts spreading into the blood vessels. Here, it spreads normally to the organs nearby i.e. stomach and bowels etc, and later it can even go to lymph nodes.
- The fourth stage: At this stage, it starts spreading to the further parts of the body and effecting organs accordingly.
